I've located the source of my noise. It was the 9V DC PSU for a pedal. Running the pedal off a batteries got rid of the noise!
Excellent! Bad psu or house wiring is acting wonky? The latter happens from time to time.

I use Hotwire. Cheapish but never an issue.is where it's plugged in grounded? Is the headphone amp battery or plug in?

Build Reports / Bi-comp
December 10, 2017, 08:10:58 PM
This is a project and boards I bought probably 2 years ago and finally got around to building. Got an orange squeezer and a flatline compressor. Why? I don't know, I saw an analog man bi comp, and I've never used an orange squeezer and recently traded my opticomp, so here you go. Cheesy art work because I just couldn't come up with anything better.

Like just a basic boost or something then? That's really strange you're getting noise that filters out that easily. Is it like a 60 cycle hum?

In my experience, clubs don't get sued, they get fined, and then bands like mine don't get to play there anymore unless we have ascap affiliations or dues or something of the sort. I'm assuming they pissed somebody off, otherwise, who has time to go to pissant little clubs and check their ascap BMI Licenses?

What context are you using it? As a bassist myself for most of my 46 years, an external preamp is not anything I've ever actively looked for.

Thanks for the insight, terribly sorry for your loss. I lost mine as well earlier this year.

I'm on the North side of Atlanta and we got around 8" of the white stuff. (Meteorologists said we'd get 1-3") I've lived down here for 16 years and haven't seen this big a snow down here. Made me feel like I was in Northeast Ohio again. Kids have been having a blast.
I had no idea there was another member that close. What area are you in? I go to Atlanta more than I'd like.

Around 10 this morning we had about 5 minutes of snow all the way down here in Eatonton.  It was probably 45 degrees outside, to warm for it to stick to anything, but still neat to see nonetheless!
Wait, it gets better usually. People in the south have to get milk and bread for some sort of milk sandwich I suppose, and we can't drive in the snow, people lose their minds.

If I based my listening preferences on what musicians say/believe/do i'd be down to about 3 albums on rotation. Although Morrissey is really, really trying to make me stop listening to The Smiths.

I am curious what he's going to do with all his signature pedals, tho.

I don't take it from that interview that he's saying he'll never use a pedal again, just that he'll go back to a more basic and functional set up than he might have had before and stop chasing the next best thing from the infinite number of boutique pedals.

I've got one of Joe's albums, I don't care if it's ground breaking or a money grab, he's got a nice tone and some decent tunes. Sometimes cash grab film remakes can turn out pretty awesome.

Global Annoucements / Affiliation disclosure - addendum
December 08, 2017, 04:44:42 PM
I wouldn't affiliate with anyone that would affiliate with me, I don't trust me. As groucho marx once said: I wouldn't be part of any club that would have me as a member.

He's only in it for the money, not the music. I'd watch interviews, he will say. I don't care though, I don't want to date him.

I just turned 46. Yeah, that happened. I feel old at 10pm and when I have to climb the stairs to go to bed. My wife is 49 though, so that helps me feel young.

I imagine it's not safe to tell HER that, though! ;)
Depends on the day / hour / minute
