If there is not any damage, I would still try to get a good discount. Yeah, I would be pissed if I spent that much money and got a filthy, unsealed guitar.

This is a definite "what are you going to do to make this right?" situation.

If here's no damage, yeah, a healthy discount would be in order.

The problem is a lack of built-in obsolescence.

I mean, when someone buys a "real Les Paul", they hang onto it for as long as possible. People like to buy old LP's with "tone". It's not a recipe for selling new Les Pauls all the time to people who already have them, like with iPhones. And once your target market all have Les Pauls with toan, you're going to have to manufacture a new market.

Would have been more impressive the other way around:  an overdrive with a les paul built in.

BAM! I don't mind the overdrive or even a floyd rose, just not on a Les Paul, it's just an American tradition style guitar.

I would say that a lot of refurbishers would buy the original or vintage parts. Maybe some body bought a guitar on the cheap and needs apart to complete it. Maybe a kid got a guitar and a piece broke, and he needs to replace it on a limited budget. I've bought from them a couple of times to build a few guitars.   Really, it's an open market and they fill a niche.

Sometimes my power goes above 9v to 11 or 12v. I've been tempted to find a regulator for outside, but I live in a duplex and, well, I don't t like working with electricity. So, measure your one spot.

Have you used your DMM to measure the current coming out of the wall? I discovered hum at times because of extreme power levels.
