It's funny how you can tell a lot about a musician's personality by their instruments. Your brother seemed like a cool guy and from the looks of it he was a well rounded individual. Judging by this collection he was accepting of all with open arms. I am sorry for your loss. I am sure each ones of these speaks to you differently and just as he would. Cherish and listen to the notes that they speak. Once again, I'm sorry for your loss.

-Mike-
That is so true. Everyone he met called him friend.

I'm glad that you have those to remember your brother by.  I'm sure you'd trade them all in an instant for more time with him, but those instruments were likely a part of him and it's cool that you get to play them from here.
Very much so. Not a day goes by that I don't stop to text him before I stop myself.

This along with a couple of amps is what I have left if my brother. He was the baddest guitar player I knew, traveled for 2 years with a band right out of high school. His thirst for knowledge was unquenchable. He was teaching himself to play jazz up until the day he died. I did get to sit in with him on several occasions in various projects dating back to high school, but my dream came true when we did a show together New Year's Eve.
Just as a rundown. There is an LSR, 3 universe guitars, 2 Jems , a destroyer, a Robyn, a PRS Santana signature, a Taylor, an acoustic bass, a schector corsair, a Les paul the paul and a John Mayer signature strat clone.

Very cool to say the least.

Jimi, did you cut the body yourself?
Oh no, I'm a bassist not a carpenter.

So, I gotta know... Is it a frankenstein? Kit? Self spurced parts? How would you compare it to a gibson? It looks great, is why I ask. And I want to build one now. LOL
Kit body and neck, upgraded tuners to grovers and pickups to the PAFs. eBay all the white pieces. I've never played a Gibson explorer, but the pickups are comparable to a Les paul, not all Les Pauls, but some.

These are a couple of buffers I built several weeks ago. First up is the thunder muscle buffer designed for me by jubal81.

Next is a JHS little black buffer in vero

So the story goes, me and my brother have talked about this one for a few years, so for valentines I started this one and then I was going to build him one, because originally he had asked me to. So I worked on this one while I was grieving (still am, but not as bad) and as a tribute, I put his industrial bar under the pick guard.
I love it, the pick ups are 59 PAFs, sounds really growly.

If you use your mm on the diode setting, you don't need a battery, the LED will light up.

That depends a bit on the color and the DMM. The diode checker on mine caps out around 2v, so no luck on most waterclears (even reds just barely glow).
Right, that's all you need to check polarity though, right?

Very cool looking. I'd love to hear what you think of it also.
