Nope, 300dpi has to do with the quality of the printout. 300 dots of ink per inch. Pixels are score so it's not quite the same, but also affects the picture. You can have a 300ppi picture and print it at 72dpi, the print will not be as sharp as the picture on the screen.

That looks real great. You should protect the joint between the resistor and the wire going to your led, keep it from shorting on the enclosure.

I am purchasing parts to build the mood ring, but I am very new to this.  Can anyone tell me if using a LM78L05 will work in place of a LM7805.  Looks like the main difference is that the recommended 7805 has 1 Amp and the 78L05 has 100mA's.  I am lost as to figure out if this will work or not or cause crazy problems.

Curious, i have a handful of guitars myself but i favor one of them and almost only play that one, its rare for me to play the others. Do you give them all play time or favor one?

I don't play them all, no. When in recording I have a bass I like to use, but I mostly play a strat or an esp, I've concluded that the many others are just part of a collection.
