Well there's the problem, you're missing transistors......but seriously, Did you turn the bias all the way down? Also, reflow, and check you have no bridges. It's hard to tell from the photo.

There is a  planet waves strap that has a clamp of sorts that goes on to yhe existing strap Britons, it works well...I have too any guitars, im not sure which one its on or which bedroom it's in though.

I had a HEAP of tiny bubbles when I pored.  The mixture looked cloudy there was so many bubbles, but the final finish shows zero.  Their pretty easy to get rid of but ill do what you recommend Dave and stir longer / steadier.

juan's video is worth it's weight in gold. That's what I used to cut my teeth.

Now the thing is I have no idea how to mod it for bass...

Well, I would start out with something that is meant for bass or that others have had good results with on bass stock if you are new to pedal building. Once you build a couple and kind of learn the basics then pick a circuit you want and the great people on this forum will help point you in a good direction to mod it for bass.

Or just socket some junk and see what happens.....I'm here for the bassics......see what I did there....

I replaced the input cap with a 390n no issues at all. It's a great drive. This and a green Russian are a staple on my board.

There was a film over each hole which i poked with a toothpick (so it dripped through)

this is particularly handed when using 9mm pots, but usually I don't let it drop through,  the effect is very nice.
