That art is pretty clever I bet too. I don't understand what the formula is, but I'm sure it's clever.

General Questions / Re: Fizzy chunk chunk

This happened to me on a tube screamer. Turns out I had a broken resistor that would separate and fizz out when it warmed up. It took forever to find because it wasn't apparent when I opened it because it had settled back down.

One of the unexpected areas where I've had to up my game with this pedal lark is the art of taking photographs. Just going point and shoot, roll the dice, gets annoying, so you have to pick up one or two things.

Number one thing I've found, is lighting. Bad lighting == bad photograph. Either only photograph on good sunny days, or buy a high quality, high intensity lamp.

Number two, don't take just one photo. Take several from different angles. You can audit them all later on on the computer, and use the best one, rather than settling for the one slightly blurry shot.

Number three, you want to get as close as you can. BUT. If you get too close, then the camera's focus begins to get bad (for SMD photography, I normally put the camera down on the table, prop the board up in front of it. and carefully only touch the button, nothing else. The camera shaking even slightly will blur the photo at that range.)

What are some tips you guys have?
In another life I was a photographer and have been for the better part of my 42 years. That being said, I use my iPhone and edit in photoshop. I like to go out side and use natural lighting in the shade. Sometimes it helps to back off with a flash and them crop it in photoshop.

The outside, to me, is just as therapeutic as building the inside. Really that's all it is to me, therapeutic. I can focus on white I'm soldering and nothin else for a little while.
This. I've told my wife on several occasions pedal building has saved me tons of therapy. I might be repressing issues still, but I'm not thinking about them!;)
Eeeexactly!!!

Best way to do it - or bring in your Head and Guitar! (GUILTY!)

I dunno about bases, but yeah I can Imagine a stock squire bass would be bad. Especially some of the cheapies (affinity/bullet)
Bought a Pete Wentz signature model, I had to replace the body and the pickups and install a tone knob before I could get anything decent out of it, BUT I bought a Squier 25th Anniversary pbass that I replaced the pickups and it came with a baddass bridge on it, sounds amazing.

There will definitely be a sale coming up in May. That is the 5th anniversary of MBP, so we will do it up proper.
Now.....we wait....

You don't have any sales coming up do you? I'm thinking I need to place an order, but I will wait if you do.

Well I'm quite fond of my squire actually. :P

And I'm 99% positive you just confirmed "Rocket 50" as your speaker type. They aren't bad speakers. I have them loaded in a homemade 4x12 straight to go with my Randall cabinet.

For the record:

You can't even get the speakers for $130

Run like you stole it Jimi!

edit
or is that play it like you stole it....

Not that there's anything wrong with a squier, but you can hear the differences (on some), at least I could on bass.
Before I bought it, I looked around online while standing in GC to make sure I was being cheated. Cheapest I found was around 250. I played an awesome orange amp the through it in store. Pow! It was so warm with an American strat.

What speakers ya got in there?
Don't know, it's stock. It's the cab they came out with for their solid state head. The speakers are branded celestion, but a squier is branded fender too. I only play in my music room, and 130 was a steal for sure.
