I listen to music and makes me want the same tones, like right now I'm listening to Pink Floyd and David Gilmour and Stevie Ray and John Mayer, and I want cool strat tones, so I'm looking at building some muffs and another screamer. I spend half my time building and half playing AND I built another pedal board, so theres that too.

That's cool all the way around! When I enviroed the sides of one of mine, I Squish the top of an aluminum can and slide it over the top, that way, no lip at the bottom and it's relatively level too.

I get the big muff because Gilmour made want to play. Van Halen made me want to be a player. Gilmour's voice made me want to do this. That tone reminds me of that emotional and creative high I got so many years ago. That aha moment. It sounds like a big muff to me.

If you're in the US, i use dixie cups and fill the bottom. Usually that's a hair too much for one 1590b. Rule of thumb, if it doesn't look like it's enough, it is. If you use just a little bit more, it's too much.
