Open Discussion / Re: volume swell pedal

There's lots of guitarists adept at doing volume swells by rolling the guitar volume knob with a spare finger while they're picking. Saves the cost of a pedal and pedal board real estate.

With Cry Baby's and such, the treadle travel only covers part of the full rotation of a pot so that's going to create issues in getting a well functioning volume pedal from that enclosure. There are circuits out there such as the Jen wah/volume that do offer up a wah/volume pedal from a single unit.

Ernie Ball Volume pedals used to be had on ebay, haven't needed to look in years,  for what a beat up Cry Baby was going for.

Video of knob twiddling is pointless.

Except that YouTube is a vast network of discovery due to the video sidebar and tags that helps bring things to peoples' attention you mean?
Hi Jon,
I think Brian wants little commercials to generate interest in his PCB's,  something with impact, short & sweet, grab my attention, leave me lusting for more. Whether youtube video or just audio it needs to be well recorded, be well played, sound great, make me envious.

Show me the pcb, Brian does great layouts, show me a loaded PCB, the tiny cityscapes are works of art in themselves,  show me a mockup/cad drawing for a layout/enclosure.

Now that he has my attention i'll explore further and invest time, research it, listen to/watch more demos but he has to get my attention first, smack me in the face, wake me up.

Make sure the demo sounds great, flaunt the gorgeous PCB's, sell me fast, i'm in a hurry... after that i can waste countless hours putting a hopefully, interesting wrapper around it and then... go off and twiddle my very own knobs.

Well recorded audio sample with a simply-done mock up to illustrate the enclosure size necessary and needed controls. Video of knob twiddling is pointless.

Sorry if this is a double post, I'm not finding my other one. Is 1/2 watt necessary for r32 or will 1/4 watt work?

Don't know he answer to the question but snagged the other post.

I like the avant-garde stuff in reasonable doses. I've seen that kind of thing live much more than I've listened to it recorded. Somehow for me it translates better in a live setting.

That's seems true for a lot of music, live is the only way to take it in.

Saw Wilco last summer, Nels and guest, Richard Thompson, had a nice edgy throwdown on Fairport's Sloth.

Sell the offending chip seperately?

I checked the back of a digital muti-effect box i have and the label says , Complies with the limits for a Class "B" computing device pusuant to subpart J of Part 15 of FCC rules. There's further explanation in the manual and what to do if it interfers with the TV or radio. Got this Yamaha REX 50 in '87 or '88 so these type of rules have been around for awhile, hardly seems likely that EHX was caught unaware.

The mono jack body/ground is in electrical contact with the enclosure so it's connected to circuit ground by the ground connection wire on the stereo jack. To ensure great electrical contact between the jacks and enclosure you can install inner-toothed lock washers to the jacks, they'll bite into the jacks and enclosure improving contact and help prevent the jacks from loosening up.

Ditto... Tonepad, GGG, Geofex, Madbean's, except i print to transparencies for photo boards and always 'doctor' things before getting to that stage.

Looks like i'd be in big trouble with what i get up to... anyways...

I find the search function there works pretty well for me, i especially like the ability to search for posts by poster name as i seem to remember those, and a good keyword, i can find particular posts i need very quickly.
