At the very least try to pick up Mojo & Uncut magazines (monthly) for the included comp cd's, can count on them to introduce me to a couple dozen artists and pieces of music i've never heard before. That'll lead to searching out albums and cd's to add.

Vinyl shopping, record cleaning is a winter activity and i'm still mostly doing outside jobs but that's drawing to a close, so soon, back to the vinyl.

Edit, we have a local college station that provides lots of new ear candy so that's always on in the house except when i'm dj'ing the stereo.

Ohmite makes some knobs in the size range you're looking for but they are crazy expensive and i haven't found anyone with stock, just 10 piece minimum orders to get them stocked. Maybe someones doing knock-offs of those.

With my stove at least the control's shafts are a very odd shape, not round, flat on two side with a groove on one side, knob hole shaped to match and just slip on.

Maybe an appliance control knob could work?  Stove/washer/drier

I've worked the other way putting pedal/electronics knobs on the stove, room light rheostat.

I'm a fan of PTFE/Teflon insulated and bought hundreds of feet of stranded from here years ago, haven't run out. They have solid core as well.

Anyone one from here based in the UK and using 0.24mm? Having a hard time finding it!

0.24mm  would be extremely tiny in terms of what we use, that would be ~31awg size, the bigger the number the smaller the wire.
22awg is 0.644mm, 24awg is 0.5mm, so anything in that range would be ideal, solid core if you must have 90 degree bends that hold their shape, the more forgiving, stranded with zip ties if a more fluid/organic set up is fine. PTFE/Teflon insulated is a bonus for either solid core or stranded.

And if going with the 90 degree bends get yourself a pair of conical tipped needle nose pliers, wide range of radii and not going to knick weaken the wire when you bend it. Bought mine at a craft store selling jewellery making supplies.

I started with a gooseneck magnifying glass with a built-in light. Worked pretty well, although I have to hold my head at the right place and the right angle, and you have to work around it with the soldering iron and solder.

I was later gifted a head mounted magnifying set with built-in light. Much easier to work with, although the extra weight takes a little bit to get used to. You can do whatever you want with your iron and hands.

This, had one, the magnifying lamp is just a pain to use, always in the way, always needing to be adjusted, moved, my shops well lit and i use a headband binocular magnifier that pivots up out of the way when i don't need it, easy to use even with glasses and always there wherever you turn your head to look. 

This is the one i've been using for many years, lots out there to choose from.

Music to garden by... my wife brings home a wide ranging never ending supply of comp cd's always loaded with surprises. My itunes library consists of dozens and dozens of these comps that then get randomly dumped onto a shuffle so never have any idea what's on the shuffle and mostly no idea who it is i'm listening to. A couple of random samples that popped up the other day.

Never enough time in a day. Twenty minutes for coals to develop, nine minutes to grill, ~five minutes to rest. Last couple times we've done smoked pork ribs it's been salt and pepper on the meat for the smoking then basted with melted butter  for serving. For tonight's grilled pork chop again just salt and pepper but dressed up butter for the finish, garlic, sage and Arbol chilies cooked in the butter while the chop grilled.

It's blowing up here again in Houston.

Lame

I was in downtown yesterday and it was a ghost town. Kind of a weird feeling.

I now find it way more uncomfortable being out walking with people all around then i ever felt when we were a ghost town, i really enjoyed the lack of humanity and traffic.
