Hi Guys

Happy new year to all.

So i received today my pt2399 and jump on the delay! yeaaaaa

First time no sound just static and some delay noise on the background... but no guitar signal

checked the pcb and find a bridge... :(

after solving that issue put it all together again and.... guitar signal but no delay!!

I´m using a 22k pot on the mix because i only have at the moment 2x50k pots! But i think that sould not be the problem!

voltages on the ics:
PT2399
1: 4,94
2: 2,36
3: 1,7mv
4:0,11
5: 2,86
6: 2, 38
7: 0,26
8: 0,79
9: 2,39
10: 2,38
11: 2,38
12: 2,38
13: 2,38
14: 2,38
15: 2,38
16: 2,38

on the Tl
1:3
2:3,02 (some hum when  probing)
3:3
4:1mv
5:6v
6:3
7:3,02 ( some hum when  probing)
8:3

As i told the first time i turn it on i had no guitar signal but mixing with the pots i can ear some delay changes on the static sound... but after i solved the bridge i mix the pots and nothing. just the guitar signal

I changed with a new pt and i have the same result

any ideas? a fault pt? bridge caused some damage on some components?

Build Reports / Royal Booster AKA Thunder Puss
December 30, 2012, 10:12:11 PM
Hi guys

Here it´s my second finish build! The Royal Booster... It´s a thunder puss booster

Since several stuff that I bought from ebay doesn't arrive I had to improvise.

Painted a wood box, found a dice from some cards and here it is the result

I prefer the sound from my rangemaster but... It´s a booster!

the guts

I wish everybody a happy new year with a lot of builds!!!

Mods / rangemaster changing trans - some results
December 26, 2012, 03:09:42 AM
Hi guys

Merry Christmas to all

So I finish my rangemaster and it rocks!

Today visiting my father I found on is attic some transistors... ac127, a mullard OC76, ac188, 2n.... etc....
On my rangemaster and since I can't find an oc44 i have an ac128.. but now with this goodies....

Can I swap the trans without any problems?

Build Reports / first build - RangeMaster
December 22, 2012, 08:58:22 PM
Ok, so i´m proud to share with all of you guys my first Final build (waiting from some components from ebay to finish 3 more  ;D  )

I had  initial problems with a lot of noise coming out from the box but the problem was a crap/cheap power transformer.

Any advice on a nice DIY transf unit?

Change it to battery power and the result was awesome!!!

Combining this pedal to my tubemeister 18 and a marshall cab 2x12" loaded with greenbacks it´s a explosive combination!

Thx Madbean! I love It!!

So after rock it it was time to box it and without the 1590b I improvise and It is the results...

PCB - used magazine paper

the heart ( i wrap the battery and the board with a bubbles bag to avoid any shorts)

and the final results:

after this photos i add a led, at the moment using it without a truebypass but after the new switches arrive i change it.

so hope you enjoy... i´m loving it!

Hi guys

I start building my pedals a week ago...   ::) noob

I´m etching my pcbs, reading some stuff and.... having a lot of fun on doing it! New challenge for the next days... find some oc44 for the rangemaster... hehe

At the moment I have 3 boards waiting for some parts that I order from ebay.

Yesterday I start building the thunderpuss and today wire it up just for test.. simple circuit compare to the blue delay (my first one and still waiting for the pt2399) but I dosent work!  ???

The led is the only think that works... hehhe

I check for bridges, none I can find...

check for the values of the components... everything seem to be ok!

I grounded the input jack to the output but not grounded the jacks to the pcb ground. Is that ok?

I have in parallel 2 resistor in order to achieve the 62k

So... any suggestions?

some photos (without the pot and far far way from my work area that is an authentic mess at this moment  ;D)

Tech Help - Projects Page / Rangmaster OC44 vs AF200
December 19, 2012, 12:07:57 PM
Hi There

I need some help.

I´m starting to build some pedals... by the way I f**** love it  ;D ... for last 5 days start build 4 circuits... but for a noob like me the questions are a lot! Hehehe

Ok, so I have my pcbs, buy the way i´m etching my pcb´s with magazine paper and having nice results, waiting for some IC´s that i bought from ebay and yesterday started on the rangemaster.

On the rangemaster we have the OC44 but here in Lisbon I cant find it, so in that quest I found a shop that sold me an AF200, an transistor that is an replacement for the OC44 (according to a old book that the guy had)

But this transistor as 4 pin... I know that the 4pin is the case ground but...

So, my questions is:

Can I use this AF200? anyone try it? Do I need to change any of the resistor for bias?

What about the 4pin? Cut it off? Solder it?

Thanks
