My wife would never let me get away with spending all my time in the garage.  It's funny, but we share the same desk in the evening.  I work on pedals and she works on whatever she's working on.  Let's just say she's gotten used to the solder fumes.

I really like that binder idea, I might have to steal it

Steal away!  I stole the idea myself from somewhere on the interwebz.

Was listening to this again today. Can I has more?

Day ....made.

Here are two of our other concoctions from several years back.  Our next weekend together is April 9-10 and we've decided to focus on one artist for this time around.  We settled on Tom Petty and we've pulled together about 15 of the not-so-played-out tunes in his library that we're going to focus on.  Should be a ton of fun.

Here's a download link for each of the other two Scattered & Pickled "albums" (loosely used):
Scattered & Pickled - Are We Live?

Scattered & Pickled - Suite Sessions Gone too Pharr

Yeah there's a story behind the name.  We circled up in Atlanta to see My Morning Jacket at the Fox.  Made it to the room by midnight, which was a Hampton suite on the ground floor, rearranged the furniture and proceeded to make music until 4:00 AM.  Oh and the hotel was on Pharr road, so there you go.

John, if you don't mind, I'd actually like to run the mixes of our next session by you for mix tips.  I tend to battle the vocals on my buddy Danny's voice.  It can be cutting in the upper mids, but I can't cut too much or it loses all the body.  I could sure use a second opinion when the time comes.

As I said before, this is really just us having fun getting together for a jam, so keep that in mind when listening.  We're not going for the perfect mix and we certainly didn't get the perfect performance.  Enjoy what you can!

Oh, and while I'm at it, here's a link to download my solo album I wrote and produced in 2000.  I did it all on a Roland VS-1680.  I know, right?  All parts done by me except the drums and some BGV's.  I played the part of a singer-songwriter/fly-fishing guide a bit back in the day.  Then I became a banker.  Go figure.

See, I heard that's where the tone comes from.  It's the second socket that does it.  Oh and card tables.

Mine's a slightly different take on the envelope theme.  I find that it keeps everything compact, but within reach and easy to find.

First off I store my tools and various sundries in a tacklebox.  I pretty much just keep pots labeled by value in ziplock bags in the main compartment, along with wire, etc.  I keep sockets and smaller generic parts in the two little trays.

Sorry for the upside down pic, no matter what I do Postimg will not display it correctly.

I use small 2.5x3 inch clear bags.  These:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZZYAIA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00

and 9 pocket/page baseball card holders.  This:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LPURVRE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00

I label everything with a sharpie and it makes it super easy to store a bunch of stuff in a single three ring binder.  I have a section for resistors, in order of course, caps, trannies, leds, diodes, etc.

For trannies and anything sensitive to static, I just trim down the little static bags from Smallbear or Mouser and slide those into the baggie as well.

This system works really well for me and helps me keep my stock in order.  Speaking of keeping stock, attached is a spreadsheet I use for keeping up with ordering for projects.  I have a list of all the parts going down the left, usually with source and part name (although may be dated now), then I put a column for the project and fill in the needed parts.  The column on the far right calculates what I need based on my current inventory.  Admittedly you have to update that column's formula if you insert a bunch of project columns, but it's not too bad.

Hope someone can find some use out of it!

Dude, the GrindCustomFX Tenebrion is phenomenal.  It is one of the few pedals on my church board that is always on.  You will not be sorry.

I'm loving these threads.  There is so much awesome in this one thread alone.  It's like a whole list of Build of the Year from you guys.  I love it.

Yeah, I was using the Glossy Paper setting for the Brother which actually cools the Fuser Roller before processing the paper.  I guess I just need to be overly careful and cut the printer off between label prints.

Either way, B&H has issued an RMA for an even exchange, shipping and everything.  Now that's good customer service.

Open Discussion / Brother !@#$!@#%^ Printer
May 14, 2015, 07:49:30 PM
So, after refusing to spend another $50 on printer cartridges for our 10 year old, originally free Canon Pixma 410 printer, I decided to bite the bullet last week and buy a color laser jet printer.  After a lot of research, I settled on the Brother MFC-9130CW multifunction printer.  Ordered on 5/6 and received on 5/9.  Was doing my first decal prints tonight and made sure to set the paper for glossy paper, manual feed, etc., etc.  First couple go through fine, then next one....FUSED TO THE FUSER ROLLER.  Done, just like that.  You gotta be $hittin' me.

Man, I'm pretty ticked, so I needed to vent to somebody.  I've reached out to B&H Photo, which is where I purchased it from.  Let's hope I can get it returned.  Of course, I just put all the original packaging in the recycling today.   :-\

... "Us against them" ....

No comment on Baltimore right now.  But this thread needs some music.  Seems appropriate.

Glorious paintwork Stephan!  Now for demos!
We must hear the ultimate chorus showdown between CE2 and Small Clone... (I'm gonna build the winner, can't decide  ;D )

Absolutely stunning.  Your paint jobs are always awesome.  And +1 on the demo!

Looks like Paul may have offered some mods over at Tagboard.  Pretty interesting sounding though.  It's got a pretty wide range.

What a great multi.  I tried to buy one of his enclosures since I didn't have anything to trade.  They are impeccably done.
