Hello All:

I built an Aion Nimbus board about a year ago (Maxon OD-820). I like it, but it always has sounded a little nasally to me. Today I was playing with it again, and noticed it sounded really really good with the tone knob way up, and like most of the functional adjustment was in the top 1/3 of the pot travel.

I looked at the schematic and saw that the tone pot is supposed to be a "W" taper pot, and I believe I used a "B" taper. Is what I'm hearing just the wrong pot taper, or should I try to figure out if I screwed something else up? 

My wife is very goal oriented. She wants to run 1500 miles this year, and she is going to, has run a bunch of marathons, etc.

Right now, she really wants to get pregnant. This is my favorite goal of hers yet.

I am trying to put a buffer into my eb jr volume pedal. I put the volume pot between the buffer out and the out jack, and the previously tested circuit isn't working any more.

For this to work right I should wire the buffer out to lug 1 of the pot and the tip of the out jack to lug 3,right?

Anybody have voltages from a working one? I think I have a short somewhere, but I wanted to check this too.

Mxr cae403. Overkill, but should be able to power anything I throw at it

Hello folks,

I was looking through my stash of GE diodes last night for a pair for my lowrider project. I realized that I have about 100 GE diodes, which is kind of nutty, and some of the diodes measure really high FV - .68 to .89. I assume these would be good to use in a BB workalike, as the FV is about the same as SI diodes, and wouldn't have near the volume drop as a typical GE diode.

Has anyone done this?

I just finished replacing the hinges and keyboard on my laptop. It was basically unusable before (thus the lack of build threads), but is working now.

Nothing like a little DIY gumption and 30 bucks worth of parts to take something that might have been trash and make it usuable.

Any eta on the 8 ball project doc?

Aluminum knobs on blms for 1.99. I just got a bunch.

I posted this on byoc, too. This is my first etched pedal enclosure. I like the circuit itself a lot. I am going to try to get my next etches deeper, as this one and my next one are both a little shallower tHan I would like.

What do you guys use for the fancy Fresnel lenses? I have used them in my last two builds, and in one it is very, very tight, and in the other, it is almost too loose and fits absolutely flush. Is there a metric drill bit size I should be using? I have been using a cheapo unibit, but it seems like the size is in between two of the steps.

There is a led pad on the pcb. Is that for board mounting a led, or for the + side of an led like the jmkpcb's?

I really like this drive. I need to get it back and give it a run with my new ac4. Once I  pick up my mic and an interface, well maybe I'll start posting some crappy demos.

I built this on a 1776 board to bass fuzz specs for a buddy. He likes it - it gets nice synthy bass fuzz at low volume levels, and screams at high volume levels.

Hello folks.

I just finished putting a fat pants together. I have checked and rechecked the wiring, but I can't figure out what is going on.

My IC Voltages are all OK from what I've seen on other threads, and my JFet voltages look OK too - although on one leg it might be high (18v).

I checked the switch for continuity, and it works. The LED comes on.

It is not boxed yet, and I'm unsure of what is going on. I get nothing good when it's on, or when it's bypassed, just the same motorboat noise.
