Tech Help - Projects Page / Re: Mouser Question
September 10, 2013, 08:06:45 AM
Thank you for checking. Although I've wasted some money and bought some incorrect components, I think that figuring out what components go where has been at least kind of helpful for me.

I don't know how to share that project publicly, but I added the cap, and it should be correct now. I do have backup resistors and some common Cap values, as well.

Could someone with more knowledge than me go to mouser and check this project for me: 2b63efa9a9

I think it should be fine to order for the JMK Hoodoo Drive, but I wanted to check first. (project at http://www.jmkpcbs.com/JMK_PCBs/Store_files/Hoodoo%20Drive.pdf)

Sorry for the newbness, but is that a good marker? if the joint shows the solder pad, it wasn't hot enough?

Tech Help - Projects Page / Help! Treble Booster!

Hello again, tech help genuises. I recently built, or, rather, attempted to build a brian may treble booster generously supplied by rullywowr. (build doc here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73135424/Brian%20May%20Treble%20Booster/Brian%20May%20Treble%20Booster%20Build%20Doc%20v1.1.pdf) I did something wrong, naturally, and I'm trying to troubleshoot this build. Here are some pictures of the completed circuit. The testing rig output probe works at c1, but nowhere else. help?

Tech Help - Projects Page / Testing rig problems

Hello oh patient madbeaners.

A couple of days ago, I put together a basic testing rig as described by jkochura. I used it to test a ego driver, and the pedal didn't work. Today I used it to test a treble booster, and it didn't work. So I tried to test my testing rig, by hooking up the "in" and "out" clips, and IT didn't work, or pass the guitar signal at all. I have an audio probe attached to the output jack, and it works fine and passes signal perfectly.

What the heck?

Sweet. Well I built the testing rig, like in the stickied post, and it seems like r3 ( in the egodriver) is the (first) culprit.

Now I need to desolder and try again.

And for. Third dumb question, if I take the pots out of the circuit, can I still test it? It is hard to get to the board with the board mounted pots

1. Can I ground my test rig ground to the sleeve of one of the jacks?

2. Are there any "debugging for dummies" threads floating around?

hey thanks so much! I will try to take pictures later tonight and get them up here.

I have ordered some fuzz components & boards, too.

Hopefully someday I'll be able to pay it forward. If you have a speeding ticket in Chautauqua County, NY, I should be able to help.

Well good to know. I have the stuff on order to build a testing rig with an audio probe. I think my soldering is ok, but I will try to get a picture up also
