The train of logic was listening to _Drive By Truckers_' "The Day John Henry Died", and wondering who else did a song about him.
Love M. John Hurt! If you've picked up an acoustic in the south you've probably learned some version of John Henry. There are a ton of great versions and variations out there and people take words from it all the time for other songs.

I've heard that early versions of the song where a work song that referred to the singer's prowess in bed. Which makes it funny when the lady at the end asked why John's hammer was so big ;)

Beautiful work there!

That is interesting. I'm in an Auto Desk, aka Auto Cad class now and have been brain storming ways to make it useful for audio. This could be the ticket.
On another note. I hope they come up with some more environmentally friendly materials for 3d printing. I hate to think that this just presents us with an opportunity to make more non-serviceable plastic crap to throw in the ocean.

Beautiful build man! Can't wait to get mine built someday. Maybe I'll get up the nerve to try an etch as well. You make it tempting!

Thanks guys!

WHat do you think about all of the clipping options? Are they all useful flavors? If you did it again, would you include all of them?
I think they are all distinct sounding with the least amount of difference being between the ge symmetrical and ge asymmetrical. I would include all of them if I did it again though. It's nice to have those different options with a muff. My favorite, as it is in most circuits for me, is the led clipping.
The input impedance control is nice for bringing in or rolling off some high end as well.

how did you do the decal?
Clear waterslide decal with envirotex type lacquer on top. I'm using Inkscape for the graphics. I just switched to it but I'm sure once your used to it, it should handle anything you need for pedals. Light background colors work best for the clear decals. Juan Solo has an excellent tutorial on his site. Just look him up here on MB and follow the link to his site.

Both of those chorus's have their virtues so great idea! Great execution as well!

That looks very cool! Demo? Thanks for the vero layout!
Nerr mind, I just saw your link.

Thanks guys! I just gave the steel box one to my friend and he loved the box though he hasn't played through it yet. He will probably use it for bass mostly so I'll be curious to see what he thinks. Glad you guys like the clear knobs, I wasn't sold on them but they were all that kinda worked that I had on hand. Stripper knobs ;D

Short break in school so I managed to get a couple of builds done. This one's a Pharaoh 'Supreme' I called Ra, aka... Hawk Cawk. This is Ivlark's strip board layout and I added a rotary, daughter clipping board and a 500k pot for the variable input impedance.

This one's a gift for a friend. It's a circuit I've been messing with that has basically turned into two silicon fuzz faces running back to back with a filter in between and lots of negative feedback. The greenish knobs came off an old 60's tube radio and where the original idea for the pedal but I couldn't get them to work out so I switched to the stove top types I got off ebay from some old equipment.

I really enjoy the pedal. I wouldn't call it practical but it is fun. The arpeggiator setting makes for lots of good racket and the pedal as a whole seems to be the biggest head turner on my board in a jam setting.

If you do go with the tagboard layout, I made a pedal from it and used a rotary in place of the switches. You can play around with which pins of the voice modulator you use as well. There are more options than just what DBA used.
