I need to order some of the boxed capacitors. I was looking at Mouser but that place just confuses me right now. What kind do you use? Brand name? Voltage etc.

Got a question about flux. Who doesn't right?

With the pre-fabbed boards from Madbean, do you use flux? If so, what kind?

Also, I do have a no clean flux pen that is close to 9 years old. Any chance it's still good?

Just bought some copperclad on ebay. It's 5 oz it says. Is this the typical size used in stompboxes? It seems pretty heavy.

1. Do you clip the legs off of components after you finish soldering or before? I always did it after and just read that can mess up the joint. How do you do it?

2. Do you tin the boards you etch or does it really matter?

3. Do you use a magnifying lamp? If so any suggestions on which one to get?

4. When drilling out a box, do you hold it in your hands like in one video I saw or do you clamp it down. If so what do you use to clamp it down first?

I remember seeing a nice wiring diagram for putting combining two effects into one box. Now of course, when I actually want to do it, I can't find it.

Anybody recall seeing anything like this?

Man I got a million questions. I haven't built anything for 9 years (I think). I was designing my own circuit boards but now I've forgotten so much. I feel like a noob. 

When I was doing this before, if I recall correctly we were just starting to talk about mounting the pots on boards. Pre-fabricated boards were rare.

My question. If I etch my own boards can I still mount the pots on the board since it is only one sided?

Got a quick question. I've been wanting to build a combined pedal with a good overdrive and a booster. I was thinking of combining two tubescreamer's in one box. I like using an overdrive pedal for some crunch then kicking on another for a some more drive for lead.

Any suggestions of a good combination for doing this?
