I finally bought a 1590a, but I haven't worked up the nerve.

I know how that one goes. I've had an enclosure for at least a year. Kind of like Envirotex, I bought it way before I actually got up the nerve to use it.

Stock Bloviator. Vinyl Decal and Envirotex. All I have to say is "Man that's small to work on." Fortunately it fired right up.

First off mint on that blue will definitely NOT work. Parchment is probably the safest choice and would look great. Black MIGHT look good too.

Open Discussion / Are YOU a jerk guitar player?

The guys I love are those who use the "Tone is in the fingers" argument for everything. "What is the difference in the sound of a single coil pickup and a PAF humbucker?" "Well, you know, tone all comes from the fingers. Give (insert a famous guitarist here) two guitars one with the humbucker and another with the single coils and they will sound the same. Because tone is in the fingers. THE FINGERS!"
I get it the fingers have something to do with it, but  equipment also affects the tone.

I've been told that it takes several days of driving to get through ONE state, although that may have been an American trying to impress an Englishman (several hours of driving to get to the tip of Scotland.)

That would be an exaggeration if you're talking about just pushing through stopping only for food etc.
Example. I live in California which is the biggest state to travel from North to South borders. If you drive the 5 freeway all the way it is almost 800 miles. That's over 12 hours of drive time without any stopping for gas, bath room, eating.
I've reached the age where I don't push it like that any longer. So for me to drive from where I live in Southern California to Oregon (the next state to the North) is at least two days, maybe more, depending upon how much I want to meander.

Love the Dark Zag! My pitchfork lasted about 2 weeks before I took it back.

Layton, that looks super clean inside and you didn't wimp out by using 3pdt daughter boards. Isn't this the greatest sounding circuit ever? I'm in heaven when I use the distortion and phaser together on this thing. Brian did a great job.

Steve.
heck yeah, Bro! it's WAY cool!! that's what took me so long to box it up! I've gotten on you tube and learning "unchained". it's so close I can't tell much difference. I'm waiting for another pre order. I want two more!!

Layton

LOL. As soon as I started building mine I went looking how to play "unchained" too.
Still need to get the matched tranny's. Anybody have a source?

What do you think you would use it for?

Steve.

Probably the wrong forum to be asking that. We don't need to use something  to purchase it do we?

*as I glance over to the 25+ completed pedals that never make it onto my pedal board. And the 30+ boards sitting in a pile that I haven't had any time to build. Oh yeah, I've got to put the two I received today from Bean on the stack. I'll put them right next to all the boards I have built that I haven't gotten around to boxing yet. Yeah, probably the wrong forum. :)

Don't tell people it's a mistake but turned out just as planned and no one will be the wiser.

dave

Yep. It's not a bug it's a feature. If somebody doesn't like it, look them in the eye and say "You don't like that! Really! It's the same technique all the big artist are using today. Dude Google it!"

The best defense is a good offense.

Amazon actually has pretty decent prices, no coupons needed and most with free Prime shipping.  You can get it in quantities from 4oz to gallons.  I've got a 32oz pack coming in the mail today.

I get mine from Amazon.
