Hello all,
this is my first mb project, a mudbunny built to triangle specs:

it works, looks great, and sounds OK ... however I checked the voltages and got the following:

Q1:

E - 0.16
B - 0.74
C - 4.42

Q2:

E - 0.1
B - 0.7
C - 1.16

Q3:

E - 0.15
B - 0.72
C - 4.29

Q4:

E - 1.2
B - 1.78
C- 3.78

I reflowed solder on the resistors around Q2 & Q4. Next, I'll double-check those component. In the meantime, I wanted to ask if there's anything else I may be missing?

I appreciate your expert opinions!

Open Discussion / Re: Tube amp building

I built a Mission Amps 5E3 several years ago, that turned out great.

I'd recommend getting a kit for the convenience. Most kits should actually be a cost savings as well. I'd also get the chassis -- there's more to a chassis than just bending metal. They should be properly silk-screened and chrome plated.

I'd be partial to MojoTone, since they've been around quite a while. Weber also has kits, but last time I checked, it seemed they used some cheap parts. (Don't quote me on that.)
I'd also recommend looking into an upgrade to Mercury Magnetics transformers. It may not make economic sense on a Champ build, but on any larger amp, it's worth it -- good transformers are the often unseen critical ingredient for great tone.

great build!

and just FYI, as many of you know, Mark Twain was a dedicated amateur guitarist, who took his old Martin along on his many travels:

etc., etc., etc ....

I agree, hum = ground issue.

I'd probably check the jacks first, since they're the easiest to see the wiring on, but you are likely going to need some standard de-bugging.

LED wiring can also be source ... and double check the switch.

The Pasyface is a 3-knob tonebender, which is a clue. In addition, the madbean docs refer to fuzzcentral for the component values:
http://fuzzcentral.ssguitar.com/3knob.php

the MKII Pro and the 3-knob versions are some of my favorite fuzzes, and very musical. The MkI, FYI, is reputed to be difficult to bias.
