Clean Decal on 'brushed' alluminium box?

Anyone do this? I've done some and it looks fricking sweet witht he design i've got, but i'm getting some weird blob marks underneath.. this happen to anyone else? Anyone solve the problem?

Lay down a coat or two of clear first to give you a nice level surface.

Yep do them all the time. It's usually dirt or casting defects. The trick is to get the thing as flat as you can. For us that's sanding, followed by polishing. As we apply adhesive decals I also heat up the enclosure before applying them (helps the glue spread if it's hot, it's also easier to remove them to re-adjust).

Still sometimes they're unavoidable. Had one today that has two beauties on it. Hoping they'll be less apparent after it's envirotexed.

these are wet sanded, coarse gradullay gettong to polishing paper.. i think the clear may do the trick..
