Just received a tri-cone resonator guitar from a NZ company, Perfect Pizzazz. Metal body, wood neck, three aluminium discs inside. In DADGAD tuning when I received it.

WOW.

Just... WOW.

Firstly, this thing is LOUD. The cats ran for it, and a few hours later my flatmate was still trying to coax her cat out from under the bed. When she got him out from there, she extracted a promise I wouldn't play it again tonight.

Secondly, maybe it's the tuning, but the sound is glorious.

Resonators are fun!

Totally. I've got a cheap Fender spider cone resonator, it's my go-to guitar for alternate tunings. Takes a minute to get used to the super heavy strings....
