Weener Wah Diode

Weener Wah asks for a 1N5817 diode but i don't have one in fact never needed one,so what could i use in its place.

I assume you're speaking of the Weener Wah 2, since 1 uses a 1N4001.

At a guess, I'd say a 1N5817 is used for low voltage drop, since it is in series with the 9V supply. You could jumper it and patch in a 1N4001 from that to ground, probably wouldn't work as safely.

But it'd pay to wait for someone who knows what they're talking about to speak up first  ;D

You can use a 1N4001 there. Voltage drop is a little higher, but I don't think it will have much impact, if any, on the actual wah operation/tone. You can always jumper it out if you want. Just be careful about using the correct negative tip power supply.

Thanks for the help guys.I've managed to get a 1N5817 so i'll go with that.

Can i wire the gain trimpot (500r) as an external pot,if so what size of pot would i use as 500r is'nt a commonly used pot.
Any other value trimpot i could use ?
