Mr. Bean, Are the faceplates you make just etched f4?....

if so how do you get the etch areas all black? Also I noticed one your faceplates looks silver rather than copper was this just the lighting?

I etch them on FR4 that has a black backing. The silver coating is actually a tinning solution---the same that's applied to all the hand-made boards I do. Basically, it's just like a PCB except with graphics.

Thanks for the info. Where and what kind of tinning solution do you use?

MG Chemicals Liquid Tin. It is sometimes available on Mouser, which is where I get it from.

do you know if there's any chance of buying those fancy boards with black backing on Europe?

ABCFAB on eBay. I don't think he ships international, though. Not sure.
