Quasar Drive (Would like a bit more)

Need some help please. I built the Quasar stock and I love the clarity and the way it does not change my tone. Here is my problem. With the drive maxed I can pick lightly and get good clean drive and dig in and get good smooth breakup but I would like to not have to dig in quite so hard to get it. Am I asking the impossible? I do not want to change anything else about the pedal. Any suggestions?

I know in some circuits changing the value of the drive/gain pot will do what you are asking. Not sure how this circuit would react to that. It would be an easy enough experiment to try a 500k or 1meg gain pot.

Yes, try a 500kB for the drive pot. You could try jumpering out D3 and D4, too. This would help balance out the increased gain from the drive pot, and preserve the dynamics a bit more.

Things are fine, actually.
