While building up Ben's Classic Dirt+ to check out some Metal 741 MOJO I got from Gvmnt_Lackey, I realized I am out of 1n (1000pf .001µF) film caps that I got from Steve. Steve is out of the AVX ones I  bought previously, and I'm not seeing anything but box caps to take the place.  Ideas? or just stick with the 100 Epcos in my cart?

Now I did have some greenie-meanie chicklets and used those. I am not a fan of them. They are wide in spec, and are generally ill fitting in our layouts. They worked out OK in this setting and I decided to have some fun with other caps on this very simple, but very excellent design.

Full of mojo!  I heard that ECQ-V don't go much smaller than 10n but I could be wrong. Looking toward to seeing this finished!  Nice job.

This is unfortunately true. I would check ebay to see if you can find ons ECQ-B 1n caps. I picked up 200 for $20 earlier in the year. They are definitely getting harder to find though. You can also pick up 100 of the Topomay poly caps for $10 from small bear. They look pretty much identicle to the panasonics (same color and form).  I've resorted to using some of these to keep that consistent look. Here is a link:

Right, after the discontinuation of the -B line... 1n might just have to be boxes, or ceramics.

Here are the 1n's on ebay (bent leads but they will work!):

If you don't want to buy in bulk, buy these from Small Bear:

FYI - a really easy way to untape your resistors and caps, Iron them. Trim your taped product to 10 per and run the iron over them, place a crap piece of fabric or cheap washcloth under them to keep any stray adhesive from sticking to your ironing board. Gently pull them away with your other hand and they come right out.

Pro-tip: Don't use your good iron, or suffer the wrath! (it could be your own!)
