Anybody know more about this project other than the name and that it is in development? I can't seem to find anything when I search the forum.

Thanks!

It is a Maxon AD-99 clone. I'm still working on it, but the layout came out great. Basically, I just need to fire it up and test it out. It also has a "tails" bypass option and add-on modulation if you want it. I think there is a pic of it on the Facebook MBP page.

Brian, would i be able to mod my actual AD999 to a tails bypass? Was already going to add modulation to it... but tails would be great. :)

The AD-99 did its bypass by disconnecting the delay line after the expander portion of the circuit so it was not true bypass but I'm guessing you did not get any tails action with it either. On the MANOWAR, I've put an option to do it before the compander portion, which makes it into a tails bypass. Assuming the AD999 is similar, you should be able to mod it accordingly. First I would figure out what bypass they are using...it may be true bypass, after all.

Here's the example. The bypass is created after the input section. In this case, I've got two 1uF electrolytic caps with an SPST in-between. The two 100k resistors to ground help prevent any pop going through when the switch is engaged.

IIRC it's the later version that is true bypass, using a 4PDT for the Wet and Dry outputs.

Thanks for the info, i also have the schem somewhere, will dig that and give it a close look, looks quite simple to do.
