Non-polar cap for Zero point mini

Hi guys,
I have a question regarding the 1uF non-polar that is needed for the zero point mini build. Musikding doesn't sell any non-polar electrolytic cap (i think), so i wanted to ask if i could use a film cap of the same value, since film caps are non-polar.

Best regards

Sure, a film cap will work fine from an electrical standpoint.  If you are putting it in a 1590a, it may not fit in the box, however.

There should be other places that stock MLCC 1uF caps.  They are fairly common.

The Zero Point MINI is a 1590B build, so it will work with the film caps from WIMA that Musikding sells. I always use those. Unfortunately they don't have MLCC caps in that capacity range. I got a few at RS components though.

Yep, you're obviously correct.  I read ZP Micro.  Oops.

Thanks for your help. I've been using the panasonic ones, why do you use WIMA? Are they better?

The polystyrene Wima caps are more expensive and considered by hifi types as preferable, but there is nothing wrong with the Panasonic film caps.  They are my preferred cap for pedal building.

Any 1uF film with decent tolerance values should work there. I've used MLCC type caps a number of times, as well.

I just started with the WIMA at random, didn't know they were special or anything and I stuck to them because they always worked for me. From a estethical point of view I prefer greenies, but the ones I got from Tayda are really big above 100nF, which delayed my recent builds quite a bit because I waited for a new order to pile up.
But as stated by the other, any cap will work.
