Even more reason to stock up and toss the tayda resistors! The Tayda leads are so thin it is almost impossibe to cut them with my dikes. I guess I could also toss the cheap Chinese dikes and get a real pair!

I second that!  I love my CHP-170s.  Been great so far.  They are available on Amazon for $4.37 (including free Prime shipping for members).

I've slowly been upgrading my "Tayda" parts to quality Mouser stuff.  If I known I'd be this deep in the hobby I would have probably gone Mouser/Digkey/Newark/Smallbear/BLMS all the way.  There is not that big of a price jump between Tayda and Mouser when you order in quantity.  So far, got all electros changed to Kemet/Nichicon/Panasonic, all film caps are now Panasonic ECQ-v. With the new price break on resistors @ Mouser I have been upgrading all my 1/4w to Xicon as well.
