On my recent Kokbox build I couldn't find a couple specific values 1 resistor and 1 cap and wound up substituting  R6 1M2 with a 1 M and C8 2N with a 2N2.

The pedal seems a bit trebley and thin sounding and the gain control doesn't seem to do much, could these 2  be the cause?

Those substitutions should be fine and shouldn't be causing the symptoms of the problem you describe. Sorry to say, I think the cause lies elsewhere. Check the usual suspects, cold solder joints, solder bridges, active devices orientation, diodes and electro caps orientation, correct component values, etc. Are you using the board mounted pots, or do you have flying leads to your pots?

OK thanks. That rules those out. I probably a cold joint somewhere as I have checked over the components several times but I'll check those again too.

Thanks again.
