Hey all

Hope you all had a good Xmas/holiday season.

Just wondering if anyne knows of a reliable DBA Robot project. All I can find on the old Google is a schematic which doesn't include wiring for the rotary switch.

All help greatly appreciated!

Cheers

what about this - http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2013/04/death-by-audio-robot-modded.html
I saw it some time ago but still decided that I don't need it :D would probably build it one day though. I am interested in the fuzz war as well.

Sorry, I forgot about that layout. Reading the comments there seem to be a few issues with it. I'd like to use the rotary switch too rather than individual flip switches. Appreciate the suggestion though Cortex'!

There is this one:

Nice! I'll drop diablochris6 a message to see if he has any more boards. Thanks!

I'd ideally like to make my own layout from a full schem but it would be my first one and I think the rotary switch and 18 pin IC would be too much for me.

I have a board that I got from Chris, and I doubt I'll build it anytime soon...
PM me if you are interested...

PMed!

If you do go with the tagboard layout, I made a pedal from it and used a rotary in place of the switches. You can play around with which pins of the voice modulator you use as well. There are more options than just what DBA used.

Guybrush

That's great. Maybe I'll give both the PCB and tagboard versions a try.

How do you find the pedal?

sonarchotic

I really enjoy the pedal. I wouldn't call it practical but it is fun. The arpeggiator setting makes for lots of good racket and the pedal as a whole seems to be the biggest head turner on my board in a jam setting.

Guybrush

That's what I was kind of expecting. The arpeggiator is the main draw for me.

Just as a FYI, Chris has this project published in the shared projects at Oshpark.

In case others want to order one.

I'm in! I Have one of those chips kicking around.

I have one of those robot PCBs from Chris fully built if anyone is interested.  I'm not going to box it, it was fun to play with on my testing rig but never got the motivation to box it.

diablochris6

With the "arpeggiator," you have to tune into the proper drone note for whatever key you are playing in for it to sound the least cacophonous.

This was my first Eagle attempt, so apologies if anything is unclear, but I built mine with no problems whatsoever. If I did it all over again though, I might have opted to use the toggles rather than the rotary because, as Sonarchotic says, there are more options for ear-melting madness.

What are you looking to get for it? Trades or cash? Thanks
