Diode?

Can anyone help identify this part and if it could be used for the projects here? I don't have a multimeter and I'm not familiar with researching parts like this. The numbers on it are:

GI 814 (it could be G1 instead of GI)
8223

400v Rectifier diode is what I'm finding.  Don't really know what you'd use it for, maybe an amp build ???

i wouldn't use it as a key component in a circuit (eg in a rectifier) without being able to positively identify it. you can always use it as a clipping diode, thought. it's probably pretty similar to the 1n400x series.
