Hello out there

This is my Zirconia Comp w tilt eq and external eq bypass switch.  Controls are volume, eq and compression.

It would have been a little easier to build this w side mounted i/o jacks but i'm on a mission to one day have a 125 board w all top mounts, inspired by JakeFuzz's board and someone else who posted a 125 board here a while back.  Very cool.

Cheers!

Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

Beautiful layout. The space between components makes me feel calm somehow :)

i would say it sounds transparent, yet gritty.  fizzy, and yet smooth.
kidding of course.  I think it sounds great, but then i love optical compressors.  the eq control is useful and i could see how the  bypass switch could be handy.  there is a lot of volume & compression on tap with this one.

yes, i like the idea a lot!

BTW, the 3pdt pcb you see pictured is going to be available as well, and i guess it's verified now too.  the bottom side that faces down towards the lugs is where the silkscreen is.  i put labels for the I, gnd, 9v, and O on the side facing you too for convenience, and managed to label them backwards.  the silk on the other side is correct though.  ::)

fantastic stuff, love it!
have no interest in comps though...but can admire the effort and the design. I too love the component layout and the space between, it reminds me of old MXR pedals...

+1

The whole build has a zen quality to it.

I don't usually have much interest in compressors but the diam... zirconia is a nice one, much more natural than some and more like a studio type than an mxr or whatever. An always on type thing but with a bit more of an actual effect than only noticing when it's off, worth trying if you've ignored compressors before.
