I find this endeavor from H&M very offending... in an era where actual band in the underground scene, no matter the musical style... or simply emerging acts that are trying to make their way, that makes lot of sacrifice to tie both ends in order to live their dream or ambitions.... you've got those big buisness selling total bullshit in the name of greed and taking everyone for dumbasses....

Blarghh....

so... is metal the new black? that doesn't even make sense...

we're going to see little gals in the street, dressed like black metal worshippers but singing Justin Bieber in choirs...

it is indeed offending when some brand takes an entire culture and makes it it's own for their own benefit. One could even think they are making fun of it.

Like back in the 80's.... where they pushed it to it's death...

This being said!

True, But going by H&M prices, looks like they will do anything to save a cent off the production cost of a shirt!

And the suits in legal don't have to worry about their made up bands saying or doing anything controversial that could harm the H&M brand.....its all very sad all round!

I think that's the crux of it.... and it's not cool. But then what do we expect from H+M (whose clothes suck anyway IMO).

I would hazard a guess that most people who buy band T-shirts from H+M, Topman etc. don't give a shit about who the band is on the T-Shirt. They just think it looks cool.

Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures seems to be the 'hipster classic' band t-shirt for people who have f*ck all clue who the original band actually is. There was a time where you couldn't walk into an Urban Outfitters without seeing some variation of a Joy Division T-Shirt  ;D

So yeah... not cool all around!

Well, on the plus side I can now dust off my old metal t-shirts and go to the cool parties and be hip again.

It's like a lot of kids you see wearing Motorhead t's that are far too attractive to be into Motorhead ;)

'Twas apparently a hoax:

according to this article the H&M campaign still is real. I'm not into metal at all, but this is bullshit. no matter which kind of music, that's just low...

Ha ha I've seen em live so I can vouch for that.

And god were they loud. Unbelievably, terrifyingly, ear splittingly loud :)
