I was going to say the cheetah 3 is great place to get wood, but that would've been in poor taste. I went there for a bachelor party once.
Otherwise, I"m not sure where to get wood to build guitars in general.
Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

Phew.  Glad I'm not the only one that went there when I saw the title....

You know, I held back.  I may be an old fart, but I hate to think I'm the grown-up here...  I love this place.

There's a tool shop in Atlanta I've always wanted to go to called Highland Woodworking. http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/index.aspx I have no idea if they sell any kind of lumber, but I've heard their tool selection is pretty awesome. Also, I bet they could point you in the right direction for where to find lumber in town.

Do a google search for hardwood (I don't believe you will find the bar the guys are talking about) in Atlanta.  It will bring up several places that will interest you. What you are looking for is businesses that supply cabinet making wood. They will or should have 8/4 (2") or 6/4 (1 1/2") lumber in the variety you are looking for.
