My sister HATES it by now, but I love Earth's track "Like Gold And Faceted", from Earth 2. It's like heavy metal meditation.

I have this thread to thank for enlightening me to Earth. I just love them.

Ill refraining from sharing death or doom metal as I don't think there are many here that would go for that sort of music, heres one that's a little more on the heavy rock side.  This album has stuck with me since it was released,

And a softer song:

Large percentage of awesomeness on that album.

EDIT: and the band / album!  lol Mastodon - The Hunter

Some of the best stuff I've heard in a very long time. Drummer seems to love with polyrhythm and syncopation.

Plus who doesn't love a 12 song 75 minute album! I have some that are 12 songs that are barely a 1/2 hour...

Posting about best gigs on BYOC made me remember just how good these guys are.

So many cool interesting parts, tones and melodies going on in this song.

Sublime...

Mastodon for the win!!! And this is a great track indeed. One of the bands on my must-see list.

Alright, my sister is seriously fed up, and so is my brother.

I still maintain it's good.

I saw Earth when they came to Wellington last year/year before maybe?
Interesting set, and an unappreciative crowd who just wanted to be blasted will walls of noise.

The newer stuff a bit more subtle, eh. Still heavy as fuck though.

"The bees made honey in the lions skull" is prob my favourite  album of theirs
