currently listening to:
East Brunswick All Girl Choir

(neither all girl, nor a choir)
I had their first album, lost it in a harddrive crash, and forgot them for a while. recently grabbed both their albums and been listening to little else the last two weeks

Sad-guy angsty country-ish, some pretty great noise guitar layered under the prettiness, great dynamic shifts, and that voice...

Just some really good pop rock. These guys are going places.

Fun fact for anyone who listened to CCM music over the last few decades, the singer and drummer are two of Steven Curtis Chapman's kids.

I like them.  Remind me of Young the Giant

Interesting fact too...  They do look like dad!

The bass player hangs out on OSG, built the bass in the video above, has a nice build thread about it there.

Saw PILE last night in Louisville and it pretty much ruled.  I don't listen to a lot of this loud stuff these days, but these guys are excellent enough to be the exception.  I can't figure out the code to embed a video, but its worth your time to check them out.  This is a track from their new record...

Drop the 's' in the 'https' address and you should be good to go.

A bit of a different pace for a guitar forum, but Hilary Hahn is worth checking out if you like violin music.

Here she is playing one of my favorite pieces, Bach Partita No.3 in E Major.

In the end, I probably still prefer Perlman's rendition, but Hahn's near flawless technique is amazing to listen to.  She never seems to hit a bad note.  The Chaconne is worth checking out as well.
