SO I built a BSIAB2, but anything past halfway on both the drive and volumes puts into unusable territory. I've only tried it with a strat, but fully cranked it just sounds shrill and harsh. Is this normal for this pedal? also do I set the internal trim by ear? I used the GGG kit with optional contour knob mod

GGG says Q5 should be set to 3.4v:http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_bsiab2_instruct.pdf

I believe I set my units that way, but it's been a long time since I boxed them up. They don't sound shrill or harsh at all.

checked voltages. the guide actually suggests 4v at Q5, but to really set by ear. I set it to roughly 4v and it sounds fine. I think most of the problem is this pedal has a shit-ton of volume and I was cranking it too much causing clipping into the POD. I set the volume half and when I dime the drive no more clipping. Had to play some Michael Schenker "Armed and Ready" as the sound fit haha.
