I'm in the process of building a pedal for a friend. A balanced mic preamp that has an effect loop. And the output is balanced xlr. He wants to be able to be able to bypass the preamp.

What is the best way to do true bypass with xlr? For the moment have a momentary footswitch that activates 2 dpdt relays. One for the plus the other for the negative(phase inverted).  It works fine but takes up a bit of room. I had no luck finding mini 4pdt relays. Anyone have a better/easier way to do this?

I thought about using a normal sized din rail mountable 4pdt type relay but those take up a lot of room too
