thanks guys. The lighting isn't hard a all, just requires a little effort. The epoxy finish was way more frustrating.

My only question would be what grade sandpaper to use on the LED.  What did you use?

to be honest I didn't sand the led and it worked great. I'm still a newbie but I didn't know LEDs light was directional, is it?

Well, it was suggested in the tutorial you linked to.  The LEDs I use definitely shine wayyyy brighter through the rounded top, especially the blue ones.  Looks like you got a good result anyway!  I'll have to try both ways, see if it makes a difference.

EDIT: BTW, what thickness of Plexi did you get, and where?

Something I've not been able to ascertain (probably because I'm an idiot) is what part of the LED to sand. The whole thing? It seems equivocal from the tutorial.
