Just looking around, the LM13700 IC has gotten just amazingly expensive. Tayda has it for 3.99 But digikey has surface mount for a Buck and change....Might be time to go that route.
Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

You can get them from Mouser for $2.62 in quantities of 1.

Thank you sir.  I think Im gonna go with both through hole and surface mount footprints, Ive been experimenting with a way to do that. I think Ive got it figured out.

Good plan. David at effectslayouts did this on the pulsar tremolo of mine he traced. His board has a thru hole for the CA3080 and smd pads on the backside for the 13700. When I found out that TH lm13700 were EOL I stocked up on more than I thought I would ever need from jamesco at 1.25 a piece. What's next, standard dual opamps?

It looks like I got out of the hobby just in time. Now the only thing I still occasionally build are kits, so no more sourcing hassles.
