Heres mine....
How would you approach that?!

"I would be interested in a pedal featuring:

 • 1x mono/stereo line input

 • 6x mono/stereo Sends with Level control for each one of them (if possible I'd like to also have a tunable HPF before each Send)

 • 6x mono/stereo Returns with Level control for each one of them

 • Phase reverse switch for every Return

 • Soft-touch (click-free) footswitches to Mute/Un-mute the returns

 • Dry blend control knob

 • Master level control knob with boost capability (+18dB)

 • Pan(L/R) knob for the output

 • 1x stereo line output with isolation in both channels

 • 2 x XLR outputs (for L & R) possibly with optional 20dB attenuation switch and ground lifts for both XLRs

 • Buffered inputs & outputs

 • Flat response in the whole 20Hz-20kHz range

 • I need the device to be able to handle eurorack signals (at least 10Vpp) and even higher if possible (20Vpp)"

If anyone is up for the challenge let me know
Also, use the thread to share your wildest requests?

Cheers,

For the begginings, I think http://hownotomakeapedal.blogspot.com is still alive

Well, not as crazy as yours, but I guess the craziest was 4 effects, a headphone jack and direct box. I quoted an outrageous price because I didn't want to do it. He paid it anyway, so I had to figure out how to make it happen.

Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

I had to reply and say I suggest he buys a GigRig G3, and even that might not do everything required (!)

I was thinking "how much weed do you have to smoke to dream up a setup like that???"

I know Ronnie Montrose used a live rig with a Princeton miked into a mixing board and then would apply all effects on their own channels before it went to front of house.  That set up pales in comparison to your request though.

How loud is too loud?  What?

That was before GigRig days. That would have made things easier for me. He could have bought one for what he paid me. Seems like I charged him something like $750, about 12 years ago. I wouldn't have paid it, I'll tell you that.

My first question would be:  what possible situation did this individual find themselves in where this pedal idea was the solution?
"you know it would be great if I could take the sound system of an aircraft carrier and run it through 30 phasers into a vintage Cray 1 computer and then output half of that into an old artari 2600 and the other half into Yankee stadium's P/A, while also having a tuner out for my sitar."
Focus on addressing the source, not the symptom.

Yeah totally wild.

Im tempted to even post it up in the Gig Rig facebook lol see what they make of it
