Third build with MADBEAN's Pepper Spray etched board.
Stock specs with 2 BAT 41 in series for D4 and D5.
It sounds good with the controls all the way up but it is not my favorite fuzz.
I'm still glad to have built such a legend since I'm a fan of Steve Albini. I have the new Pepper Spray board waiting to be built with Albini's specs to be able to compare both.

I built to Albini specs with a fabbed PCB. You should defnitely try those specs as well! I haven't done a "stock" one, but I like the Albini specs better than samples I've heard online of the stock configuration. To me, it's more of an off-kilter, fuzzy overdrive or distortion than a full-on fuzz. It's almost like a weird cousin of the MXR Dist. + or something. That may be particular to the Albini specs though. Other people say it's a crazy fuzz, so I guess it's all pretty subjective! I can definitely hear Big Black-type sounds, but not so much Shellac. Try playing Neil Young songs with it for fun. It actually works pretty well for that kind of sound.
