I've lately delved into etching, both boards and boxes.
Am absolutely loving it  ;D

Those turned out really cool, especially the darkside. I've been etching my own boards for a while, this makes me want to do an etched enclosure on my next build.

I like your finishes also! They have a neat 'gritiness' to them, and being imperfect lends a particular class to them I really like.

Man, those rock! Both inside and out, looking awesome! Wish I had more time/funds/abilities and a proper workspace.... Very, very cool!

I really dig the grittiness as well. They look super cool. Good job getting going on etching, I myself am too scared to get into it. One day hopefully.

Sweet etchings.

I like the design of the Cupcake best too.

Really Great! Nice etches!

Love the Grimey Dirty looks they all have. :)
But I'm a sucker for etched enclosures!  ::)

Very inspiring. Rough and raw.

How do u do this? "Enclosure etching"? Is there a tutorial/youtube vid somewhere?

Cheers

Rough indeed, but I'm gradually getting better at it. ;D
It takes a lot of trial and error.

I'm using toner ironed from photo paper and home brew acid made from Hydogenperoxide & Hyrochloric acid. I boost it a little by etching some copper clad in there first.

A dude called Fernando (aka Slade), who's in a league of his own, did a tutorial you can view HERE.

Just to avoid any misunderstanding (even if i guess its clear...); I absolutely meant "rough" in a very positive way:) ...

Thanx for the link. I will look it up. Not sure i will practice this technique on my soon-to-come-projects, but it looks so cool, i just have to try it some time:). Maybe i will also evolve into boardetching too ... time will tell.

Cheers!
