Greetings! I thought I'd post some designs I've created for etching enclosures, so you can use them too. Anyway, I'm still something of a novice when it comes to pedal building, but I figured it was time I contribute something to the community. Special thanks to my friend Lyon for helping me along the way with the actual etching process.

PSD and PDF files are attached. Enjoy!

They look great! I would be interested in learning how to etch enclosures. The problem is, where to start. I have Inkscape, which I need to learn to use, so I would need to find/learn to set up template sizes for different enclosures. Learn to make graphics in inkscape. Then learn to transfer them to the enclosure, etc., etc. You get the idea!

Any suggestions?

Hey! I'm glad you liked them. Here is a great step-by-step tutorial I've read and reread again and again:

It's definitely one of the most straight-forward tutorials I've come across, but the process really just takes practice (I still mess up a lot, haha). I've also found that going back and touching up some areas with a small brush really helps to bring out any intricacies you've designed.

As for Inkscape, I've never used that particular program before (I use photoshop or illustrator), but as long as you know the dimensions of your enclosure I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to set up/make your template sizes.

I hope that helped some!

I like the second one a lot. usually the closest they get viewed is 4 or 5 feet when on the floor so those big bold designs always seem to stand up better than the delicated detailed etches. although seeing the really clean tight jobs is always super impressive.

nice design!
tried lifting weights once....they were too heavy!
