Lowrider power issue
« on: November 28, 2012, 09:15:29 AM »
Hello internet!

I've recently built a Lowrider and a Greenbean, and I have a problem with the Lowrider.

When I power it with a 9V battery, it just works perfectly. But when I use an adapter (a regular Boss 9V adapter), it doesn't work. Only the LED works.

I've checked the wiring, and I really can't find anything. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Moeriki

Hey, I've just checked, and my adapter is only 200 mA, and  a battery is usual around 400 mA. Could it be that that's the problem?

I don't think so...I have mine hooked up to my PP2+ into one of the regular slots that provides only 100mA I believe.

Can you post pictures of your build?  Specifically, the wiring from dc jack to board, and led to power.

My guess is that you reversed the two positive lugs on the dc jack.  Depending where you connected your LED power to, you could get no power to the circuit board but have power to the LED.

Hey Dan, you were right, I messed up the wiring of the DC jack. I thought those 2 pins were just linked.

Thank you very much for your fast reply!
