Am getting ready to attempt this build and just wondered if anyone had completed one and had any tips for me?

Here is a link to some info...

Thanks!

This has been on my build list for ages! Just never got round to it. Good luck with the build though! Looking forward to seeing the results!

Yes, get the small lytic caps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can see I didn't and to this day it is the ugliest build I've ever done. Looks like big warts sticking out on my PCB but I got them in there.

I also tried to socket the tubes and I couldn't get it working. Soldered them in and it worked. Obviously I didn't like doing that for what happens if/when the tube blows...what a PITA.

Also had a bitch of a time getting the right PS and finally just cut one up and swapped the wires.

All of this was my fault and due to my poor skills but those are a few of my memories. Had you asked me a year ago I could have told you more but I'm old and my memory sucks  :P

In fact you probably will see my name in a few threads and of course this one http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=73222.msg844216#msg844216

Thanks for the advice.

Just as I was reading this my parts from Mammoth arrived to my desk, or most of them, and of course I have the same caps that you mentioned! I am doing the printed board too so maybe I can edit things and give myself some more space.

Waiting on my tubes from SmallBear, which should be here tonight, and then Mouser to send the transformer and a couple resistors, which are on backorder  :'(

Can't wait to piece this thing together. Going to build a cabinet with one 10" crate speaker from an old amp, hoping that will be a nice little practice amp to keep me off the marshall when the wife is home :)

Update:

Board printed and drilled, just started populating. Made some modifications to the layout thanks to the tip above so caps sit a little more comfortably.
