help, my led doesn't turn on on my sunking build, i'm using a 3pdt switch with the middle columnn not connected at all, tried switching between the leds wires but still won't turn on.

pedal works fine, all knobs and buffer bypass also.

p.s using a buffered bypass, not true bypass :)

did you wire the LED backwards (+ for -)?

can you physically ground the LED and have it light up but when you attach it to the switch it doesn't work?  got pics?

madbean

Seconded. LED must be wired backwards.

Another option is your LED is no good. I've had that problem lately - three bum LED's.

will the led work directly to a 9v source ?
just wire the + and - ?

cause i've reversed the wires and it still won't light up

jkokura

No, you need to have a current limiting resistor in series with the LED. If you hook an LED straight to power and ground, the LED will blow.

However, on the sunking, the LED spot on the board includes current limiting resistor - did you use the pads on the board?

Ang3lus

yes, i did use the pads on the board, thought i hooked them right, no budge, tried reversing, no budge again.

madbean

Hmm. Can we see a pic of how you have it wired? I mean, the board and 3pdt?

Ang3lus

yeah, i'll try getting a screenshot today

Ang3lus

wired it the right way the first time, was just a cold solder joint

hate when that happens

pedal works perfectly, just some tiding up and i'll post some pics :)
