After uploading the Hipster doc last night, I decided I was really bothered that I left of a Bias trimpot for Q2. So, I went ahead and made a last minute revision to the layout to include the trimpot. If you downloaded the doc last night, toss that and grab the revised version.

I WILL have the BOM and at least schematics for all the new stuff in the next couple of days so everyone can plan their parts order accordingly. The full documentation will probably run up right to the last minute, though.

So, I'm trying to order some painted enclosures from PPP. There are some standard, premium colors I need, and a brushed translucent finish. FFS, what web developer came up with their system of ordering painted enclosures? I am not dumb, but there's something terribly wrong with having to add four items to your cart just to get one type of painted enclosure. Maybe I should email them to make them aware of drop down menus.

Sheesh!

To get people excited, I've uploaded complete documentation for Cave Dweller ver. 1 and 2 WITH PCB artwork for any etchers that want to get started at home right away. The actual PCBs will be available in the next batch of fabbed boards which I hope to have right at the end of this month.

Anyway, I think this is going to turn out to be a great set of projects for everyone, so I hope to see some really cool looking baby builds here in the next few months

I kinda thought at first they were trolling us, cause frankly I wouldn't have imagined anyone saying such lofty things about the record. But, it has made my day, regardless!

This is as close to a CAD drawing that one needs for hand drilling, I think. I've used this on a couple of boxes now and it seems to be correctly scaled. It has position markers for several pot layouts on the front face depending on what you are building. The scaled template is in the pdf file.

I realized a couple of days ago I could do this so I decided I HAD to. I love the way this thing came out. I haven't plugged it in yet since it's f'n freezing in my workshop and my fingers were getting numb. But, worked as expected before boxing.




And no, I won't be making any boards for this one, but yes, I will upload the layout if anyone wants to make their own

Here's the finished build for the Cave Dweller, which is one of the upcoming Baby Board projects. It's a single chip, dark ambient delay. The three controls are Time, Echo and Dwell. It's a little different than other PT2399 delays in that the Echo is actually single repeat mixed with the output. The Dwell is the more heavily filtered portion of the delay and has endless repeats up to self-oscillation. The two knobs work together two create a variety of filtering and if you set it just right, the repeats will go on forever and turn into kind of a pad or drone. It sounds killer for being "medium-fi".

Anyway, this one is finished and will be released in Feb. Since the design for the etched and fabbed boards are pretty much identical, I'll actually be releasing the project documents and artwork before I get the PCBs in---something I haven't done in a long time!

Today, the new USPS rates went into effect which means I will have to increase the international shipping rate somewhat. The new USPS rate are starting to get quite high, but I've put in place a similar structure as before based on the number of PCBs ordered.

Here is the new International shipping rate:
Int'l - $3.50 for 2 PCBs, $4.25 for 5 PCBs, $5.00 for 6 or more.

Domestic shipping for MBP has not been increased at this time.

Jan. pre-orders will ship early! This Friday.
