this its s spanish web site, but here its some build of the theremin, using some choke inductors and other things, its posted a schematic and pics
  have fun

http://www.pisotones.com/Theremin/Theremini.htm

That theremin doesn't have a second antenna, don't theremins usually have two antennas? One for the pitch nd another one for controling the volume?

that a theremin miniature, its a small size theremin, he explain there that he traces the cuicuit fron the actual theremini, he bought on a street sale for 2 euros, that its the first picture, then the other its the build schematic its attached for the miniature theremin.

also he saids that he had never seen a theremin like that, so he thought it was like a special build, and traces to vero board

Thanks for the explanation, i may have skipped that part of the doc.
this looks interesting... http://www.popsci.com/diy/article/2008-04/build-pocket-theremin-cheap

It sure seems interesthing, but if i'm not mistaken that is an optical theremin, and i thing that those with antennas are more directed to what i'm looking for. Thanks for the tip anyway Layton.
it is optical. as it turns out, I have all I need to put one together. I'm gonna build one just to see if it's feasible to build the antenna type. I'm like you. it may not work out for me, so there's very little lost in the experiment.

Thanks, Jimi! Not to bad on the wallet, selfdestroyer. Been doing this for nearly 30 years. She runs high 5.90's in the 1/8 mile. Calculates to low 9's in the 1/4,Matt. Yes, dogg, built her myself. Come on over, haveyouseenhim! I'll strap you into 'er!!

My D9D's just have one white stripe at one end, no red.

There are two color code systems for these diodes:
D9D's they are! thanks a million, kothoma!!

That's pretty sweet.  Didn't know there was such a pcb.  My luck, I'd build it and need a working one to troubleshoot the troubleshooter.  ;)
LOL! never thought of that! fortunately, I had a tester to test the tester, so I was in good shape! actually, it's an easy build, despite it's fairly large size. check it out! you'll be glad you did!
