Sythcube has had them in stock regularly for $15 for at least a couple of years. They have a 20% sitewide sale 2 or 3 times a year that makes them $12.

I still have a Devi Ever Console development kit that I should dig out and dust off. From what I recall, the circuits were much noisier in the cartridge format.

The Console is really what led me to look at eurorack as a pedal format. I'd of loved to had a Console 3 with a few cartridges. It was an awesome idea

I think the idea is great. I'd been hoping to see someone do something like this ever since the Devi Ever cartridge thingy that never made it out.

There are however, a couple of questionable choices in this implementation. The width and number of connectors seems fairly excessive. Also, with the cartridge standing up at a 90 degree angle, and so close to the foot switch, those knobs are like to go pretty quickly. I notice the demo he is using his hands to switch rather than his foot

Every laptop power supply I have used for audio has been noisy and somewhat interactive with whatever it was powering.

That board says it will run off 8V so I'd try a one spot just to see if it has anything to do with the power.

It's the SMT version. So, you can populate either a through-hole or surface mount JFET. In light of JFETs being so expensive now I pretty much just use surface mount these days unless I have to use the other for some reason.

Yep, I've pretty much decided the same thing. As a matter of fact, I ordered some adapters for the boards that don't already accommodate them.

No, not at all. Is it safe to assume the vcc/2 is the vref at 4.5? I'm slowly learning my way. I'd really like to may a PCB from this. The transistors look like 2n5088s if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, I believe vcc2 is the 4.5v vref

Not what the title leads you to believe. With the release of the VFE DragonHound coming this week I started thinking a bit about blended circuits. The DragonHound puts the AlphaDog and PaleHorse in one box and lets you blend them in parallel (with the tone and level being shared by both). I've thought about this concept on and off for a few years but never really went anywhere with it. But, the DragonHound sounds great so I want to start tackling some other possibilities.

The two that I've already started drawing up are pretty solid ideas: An OCD and Zendrive (both using mosfet clipping, one hard one soft) and two of my favorite boosters - the AMZ MiniBoost and Mosfet boost. The boost one goes further in that it lets you run them in series (both ways) AND parallel.

Any suggestions on other blender circuits you might like? This could be another category of offerings at mbp.

The DOD FX76 Punkifier is two blended circuits. The FX13 Gonkulator is too

Any schematics for considering? Honestly, don't believe that any resistor in audio path will generate any significant heat...

My thinking is that resistors in the signal path with no audio would not generate heat, but when playing, the voltage is boosted by the opamps, in this case, potentially up to 18V. So that (i think) could potentially surpass 1/8 watt. The more they warm up the noisier they get... So there may be room for improvement with 1/2watt resistors... maybe?
