Yeayyyy, Finally, I have solved this problem, with a lot of consideration to added some Resistor value to 3PDT.

I will assume that Modified Boneyard will create an oscillation, also happened with mine.

What I have done to kill Boneyard Oscillation are:

1) Add shielding cable into INPUT and OUTPUT jacks
2) Add 1K resistor value between 3PDT INPUT and GROUND lugs.

These are work out with Modified Boneyard, I've found this after several debugging with this pedal all day.

Another simple resolution with these pedal (if you don't want to add 1k value or shielding cable) is put the Boneyard after DS1 (BOSS) or some OD/DIST pedals with input buffer in it. This also will reduce the oscillation to my Boneyard.

There are several consideration (which become my big dilemma) to solder the 1k value or re-setup your guitar chain. I decided to solder 1k value between INPUT and GROUND lugs in my Boneyard ON/OFF 3PDT, so I have a chance to give serial stomp  box signal chain into my hi gain amps (such as mesa Dual Rectifier / JCM800). I've also found that the differences between 1K value or not using 1K value is not give different result of Plexi Tone Simulation, but I believe there are some differences in Boneyard Clipping Diodes and Volume , Tone Tweaking.

so Thank you for CK, audioware, and Madbean who have written several documentation about this mods.

Notes for MB:
You can give 1K resistor value to the documentation if you want to, but remember, the volume will going to drop a bit, but it removes the oscillation. It's kind a big dilemma with this situation :)

Hey friends,

After I've built glitterratti, I tried to built Boneyard "Modified"  (Carl martin Plexitone as listed in http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/Boneyard/docs/Boneyard.pdf) and It was great sound. I followed all the Boneyard.pdf, including 47 Ohms Resistor value, 151pF,etc.

I have a quick question, that some of MB members have faced down, pretty sure, I also on the same boat with them, but mine, quite weird.

The Problem
I came up with ICL 7660 for the IC2 and LF347 for the IC1, seems ICL 7660 works for this project, but I got a whine sound or some of members here called oscillation when I turned up the tone pot from my Guitar, about 50 to 100 percent of tone, then I tried to lower it down, and turned up my guitar volume to full knob, I still got the whine, and also when I turned down the guitar volume until 50%.

My thoughts about this issue
After several discussion with my close friend who have been built some several pedals, he said first try is to give the INPUT and OUTPUT jack a shielded cable, so it will reduce hi-gain frequency.

If it's not give any differences, so I tried to put 1K resistor near between INPUT lug and GROUND lug at ON/OFF 3PDT

My friend also told to me lower the caps value from the ICL7660 or change into MAX1044 (as it mentioned in pdf)

My questions
1) Will the shielded cable kill the whine / oscillation of my boneyard ? If it does, then I will do it
2) What should I do to kill the whine problem between my boneyard and guitar volume/tone problem ?
3) Will Boneyard wipe the whine if I change the ICL7660 into MAX1044 ?
4) Do you have some other ideas not listed here? Please tell me

Finally, it works..

After long winding road to build......

My Gliterrattii has been rocked out!!!

I'll update the sound sample, I still have a spare board to make once more.... I believe with using Sprague cap and Mallory cap will give me a better result of my next Glitterrattii...

Anybody has been tried to change the caps into High Grade quality caps ?

mine also, some sort noisy, but I try to shield the ground and the Input jack (all tip), reduce a little bit but still have a noisy sound

I used acrylic boxing (I made one for testing).

also try to put the ground alligator jack to the DC 9VDC Ground, it will reduce a lil bit the noisy sound too..

Thank you Jacob for your concern, about my Glitterrattii project, right now, I have two Glitterrattii single sided PCB, I removed some parts from 1st board into 2nd board (new one), I do re-soldering tbe parts and I still face same problem which my Glitterrattii doesn't give me any overdrive sound.

I'm still curious what is the main problem of my Glitterrattii. I tried to write down all of my problem into Gen-Tech rules.

(1) Project Name
-Glitterrattii

(2) General description of the problem
- Finally, I've got my bypassed guitar sound, directly, but when I pressed my 3 PDT (make the Glitterrattii on), nothing happened, just small buzzing sound when I  turned the pot into max.

(3) Steps that you have taken to try to resolve the issue
- My previous soldering is poor, so I try to make another board, and re soldering the parts.
- Checking the 3 PDT lugs value and logic with the board
- Checking the IC1 (JRC4558D) and IC2 (TL02) for the voltage
- Checking the TRS in jack and out jack for the wiring

(4) List any substitutions you used for parts/values
-I don't use any subs for the parts, I still follow the original parts, I didn't  increase C1 
to 220n, C10 and C11 to 68n and C7, C12 to 10n. (bass friendly)


Please Jacob, give me your advice in advance :) :) I'm getting hopeless right now

ok, back to glitterrattii project, Today, I start to do this project again and do some testing...

I tried to re-soldering my 3 PDT lugs too, I reviewed some of my lugs (from my latest post and photos), but I still don't get my bypassed sound, so I decide to take a short break and post some questions here about my project.

question;
Now, I try to un-soldering my Glitterrattii 3 PDT, remove all the cables and try to re-soldering again, so please tell me, where do I have to re-soldering the wires from my glitterrattii board on 3PDT lugs?

Right now, I able to do bypass sound from Glitterrattii 3 PDT, I've found my mistake in TRS female wiring. I found the clue when I opened my several stompboxes and do several trial and error soldering. Now, the problem is.

I try to turn on my Glitterratti but there is no sound on it, just noise buzzing anywhere. I don't have idea about my mistake, then I turn off my 3 PDT, I get my bypassed guitar sound.

No, that's good. It is slightly different than what is pictured in the wiring diagram, which could be confusing. But it should work just fine.

Ok, calm down. All these numbers are making things more confusing than they need to be. So lets not use numbers and ASCII diagrams anymore. I get a feeling like there is some kind of language barrier here. What is your native language?

you can use Google Translate with anything in this thread that is confusing...
I think understanding how a 3dpt works will help you to get yours working
please reread the second half of my post and measure the resistance on your switch to see what the problem is

My native language is chinese, currently work in Singapore. I try read again and understand the messages which have been posted here, I'm sorry for the gap and my bad English understanding. Are you saying that your middle column is connecting to the right column? If so, you'd need to turn the switch 90 degrees clockwise and apply the wiring diagram to the switch in that position

Yes, I've read about the beavisaudio one, but I still don't get the idea of the application. I tried to connect my middle column to the right column (yes), and if I turn the switch 90 clockwise, what kind of wiring diagram should I do to the switch ? I believe, it will change the switch orientation again. About this switch, I try to draw again my switch orientation.

Your view of the switch looks correct, but there may be a problem with it

Next, getting a bypassed sound should be one of the easiest and and most essential things to fix. Plug in your guitar cable and inspect the jack to make sure that everything is touching that should and nothing else (ie that the signal is grounded). Next inspect your switch, looking for ANY tiny solder bridges or wire hairs (this was the source of a problem in my first build) that are straying off and touching something else. Along with that, test the continuity between all the lugs and make sure they are switching correctly:

if a 3pdt is

1   2   3
4   5   6
7   8   9

when your LED is NOT lit,

-lugs 4,7, 5, 8 should be continuous and nothing else (check to make sure they're not continuous with any other lugs)
-Finally, lugs 2, 6 and 9 should be continuous. and with nothing else..."
*this tests both the possibility of a soldering mistake OR a faulty switch. Some cheap switches may be defective--my first build's switch was defective due to overheating with a large solder gun

inspect the path from lug 6 to your output jack

Just make sure you understand the signal flow from guitar cable-->input jack-->jack lug-->switch lug #2-->lug #9-->#6 (when bypassed)-->output jack lug-->output jack-->cable  and that everything should "flow" from one place to the next without any part touching somewhere else/ground

inspect the path from lug 6 to your output jack, so the 6 is wired with the 2 and 9, mean they are connected ?

1) now When I jacked in 9V adaptor, my Led going turn on, but there are a lot of noise here, no guitar sound

2) when I press, again, I don't get bypass guitar sound, I believe this is about my 3 pdt wiring view was wrong, so please tell me what should do with the wiring, currently noob here...

Yes Kaleb, I ground my sleeves of my jacks correctly with the 3 pdt ground and PCB ground, I double checked with my multitester, and it result good ground connected.... :)

First of all, I tried to make this clear, I feel very sad right now because I didn't make it sound right with my gliterratti....  :-\  :-\  :-\

I follow the steps from 3.5 version. I believe I'm good at electronic soldering, but I've still do not have any idea what happened with my glitterratti..

I want to cry right now, because I haven't idea to do with it. I checked wiring, what I've found the IN pin connected with Ground, it just a simple clue, but I still do not how to fix it, so please help....

My first assumption is I've got wrong in soldering the switch, because the LED turned on but what I've heard was a buzzing everywhere and I don't get my true bypass...

My glitterrattii is still naked-unboxed and I believe I should have the bypass when it turned off, but I haven't.

I just got buzzing and noise sound everywhere, I couldn't here my guitar sound...

So, Please help me to solve this problem...I'm really frustrated here....I really appreciate with your help and experiences....

Assumptions:
1) bad wiring in 3 pdt, I don't know how to, please help
2) bad wiring joins....I will upload the pictures tomorrow (I believe I have fixed my wiring)
3) I still use the part as mentioned in 3.5 Glitterratti version, I soldered the pots in the right direction (3-2-1), but I believe that I missed a point, but I don't know....
4)..etc
