Build Reports / Re: Uber tuber

It's the result of grinding the pedal surface. I think it's a sort of aluminum alloy, more zama than aluminum   :o :o, The etched surface, compared to an aluminum pedal is little deep (with the same etching time). Anyway I like the aestehetical result  :D :D

Sweet I'm in the process of putting one together myself! What did you use for the electrolytic? (last piece I'm missing)
C3 is empty cause I used 4,7 uF Panasonic cap on C2, instead of 3,3uF and 680nF for C2and C3. All electrolytic caps are Panasonic.

supossedly makes little (if any) difference so I'm going with a 4.7uf as well.
Reading MadBean wah documents 4,0uF doesn't change a lot instead of 4,7uF. Remember that the tolerance of electrolitic Panasonic Cap is +/- 20%.

You must prepare the surface, cleaning it and removing any scratch etc; remember that the gold leaf will amplfy any signs.
I spried with an aibrush (or you can use a brush but the effects is not good) a specific glue (vinilic) (I used for saving money 50%glue - 50% water) buoght with the "golden" leaf in a painter shop.
You wait until the surface glued (withe) became trasparent (less and more one hour); after you put the leaf over the surface and you cana use a soft brush to remove the excess of the leaf. After you can spray a gloss coat in order to protect the thin "gold" layer. Here below a link (in english) of the italian producer

Enjoy

Build Reports / Golden share!

When the economy goes on trouble buy gold!
This is a "golden" La Vache that I called Tweed.
I used a "golden" leaf, like the best barocco italian tradition....
I finished with a a polyurethane gloss layer.
Many thanks to Marco (www.movguitars.com) who suggested and helped me for finishing the pedal.
Ciao!
